The UAE Cabinet, led by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, has approved the country’s official stance on international artificial intelligence (AI) policy. This strategic move further cements the UAE’s leadership role in shaping global AI standards.
Developed in collaboration with the Office of the Assistant Foreign Minister for Advanced Science and Technology and the Office of the Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications, the AI policy marks a key milestone in the UAE’s foreign policy strategy. It is designed to address the increasingly complex challenges AI presents on the global stage.
Driving Global AI Governance: UAE's Role in Shaping the Future of AI
Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications, emphasized the UAE’s proactive role in global AI governance. "The UAE has become a significant player in the global governance of artificial intelligence, contributing to international policy discussions and helping shape the frameworks that will define AI’s future," he stated.
Al Olama further highlighted that the new policy will solidify the UAE’s position as a global AI leader, ensuring technological advancements serve to improve societal well-being.

Omran Sharaf, Assistant Foreign Minister for Advanced Science and Technology, echoed these sentiments, stating that the policy will elevate the UAE’s leadership in AI development and utilization.
