Intel Core Ultra 7 356H: Built for Multitasking
At the heart of the OmniBook Ultra 14 is the Intel Core Ultra 7 356H processor.
With 16 cores and 16 threads, the processor is designed to handle multiple demanding applications and tasks efficiently.
This is particularly useful for professionals who rarely work with just one application open.
A Practical Workday Example
Imagine a marketing professional working from a Dubai office.
During a typical workday, they may have:
- Multiple browser tabs open
- Microsoft Office applications running
- A video conference in the background
- Graphic design software open
- Cloud storage synchronisation
- Email and communication applications
A capable multi-core processor gives the system the processing resources needed to manage this type of workload smoothly.
For business users, the benefit isn't simply having a high specification. It is being able to move between applications without constantly waiting for the system to catch up.
AI Performance with Intel AI Boost
One of the most important features of the OmniBook Ultra is its focus on AI computing.
The Intel Core Ultra 7 356H includes Intel AI Boost, with up to 50 NPU TOPS of AI processing capability.
What Is an NPU?
An NPU, or Neural Processing Unit, is a processor specifically designed to handle artificial intelligence and machine-learning tasks efficiently.
Instead of relying entirely on the CPU for AI-related workloads, compatible applications can use the NPU to perform supported tasks more efficiently.
This can be useful for features such as:
- AI-assisted productivity
- Video conferencing enhancements
- Background effects
- Noise reduction
- Image processing
- AI-powered creative tools
- Local AI applications
As more software incorporates AI features, having dedicated AI hardware can become increasingly useful.
3K OLED Touchscreen: The Highlight of the Laptop
For many users, the display will be one of the biggest reasons to consider the HP OmniBook Ultra 14.
The laptop features a 14-inch 3K OLED touchscreen with a resolution of 2880 × 1800.
OLED technology provides deep blacks, strong contrast and vibrant colours, making it particularly attractive for entertainment and creative work.
High Resolution for Detailed Content
A 2880 × 1800 resolution provides substantially more detail than a standard Full HD display.
This can be useful when working with:
- High-resolution photographs
- Video editing timelines
- Detailed spreadsheets
- Graphic design projects
- Presentations
- Web design
- High-resolution movies
For example, a photographer editing product images can benefit from the additional screen detail when examining fine elements in a photograph.
120Hz Refresh Rate and 0.2ms Response Time
The display supports a refresh rate of up to 120Hz and a 0.2ms response time.
A higher refresh rate makes compatible motion appear smoother. While this is useful for entertainment, it can also make everyday interactions feel more fluid.
Scrolling through long documents, navigating websites and moving windows around the desktop can feel more responsive.
The fast response time is another advantage for users who regularly watch fast-moving content.
Excellent Colour for Creative Professionals
The OmniBook Ultra's OLED display offers 100% DCI-P3 colour coverage.
This is particularly relevant for photographers, designers, video editors and other creative professionals who care about colour reproduction.
Who Can Benefit from the OLED Display?
The display is well suited to:
- Photographers
- Graphic designers
- Video editors
- Digital artists
- Content creators
- Marketing professionals
- Presentation designers
For instance, a Dubai-based advertising professional working on a campaign can review photographs and promotional graphics on a screen designed to deliver rich colours and high contrast.
HDR Brightness for Entertainment and Creative Work
The display can reach up to 1100 nits HDR brightness, while SDR brightness is rated up to 500 nits.
HDR can improve the appearance of compatible content by providing greater contrast between bright and dark areas.
This makes the laptop suitable not only for work but also for watching high-quality movies, viewing photographs and enjoying other multimedia content.
16GB LPDDR5x Memory
The HP OmniBook Ultra 14 comes with 16GB of LPDDR5x-8533 memory.
Memory plays an important role in multitasking because applications and active data need to be held in system memory while the computer is running.
For a typical professional user, 16GB can provide a strong foundation for:
- Office applications
- Web browsing
- Video conferencing
- Photo editing
- Productivity software
- Programming
- General creative workloads
The high-speed LPDDR5x memory also complements the modern processor platform.
1TB PCIe Gen5 NVMe SSD
Storage is another strong part of this configuration.
The laptop includes a 1TB PCIe Gen5 NVMe M.2 SSD, providing fast storage for applications, documents and creative projects.
Why Fast Storage Matters
A fast SSD can improve many everyday experiences, including:
- Faster system startup
- Quicker application loading
- Faster file transfers
- More responsive file browsing
- Improved workflow when handling large files
For a content creator working with high-resolution photographs and video footage, having 1TB of internal storage provides useful space for active projects.
However, users working with large video libraries or extensive professional media collections may still want an external SSD or network storage solution.
Thunderbolt 4 Connectivity
Modern professionals often need to connect their laptop to multiple devices.
The OmniBook Ultra includes Thunderbolt 4 USB-C connectivity, providing a versatile connection option for compatible peripherals and accessories.
A professional workstation could potentially include:
- External display
- High-speed external SSD
- Docking station
- Professional accessories
- Other compatible USB-C devices
This makes it easier to transform the compact 14-inch laptop into a more traditional desktop-style workstation when working from an office.
Wi-Fi 7 for Modern Connectivity
The laptop also supports Wi-Fi 7.
As compatible networking infrastructure becomes more widely available, newer wireless standards can provide improved connectivity capabilities.
This can be particularly useful in modern offices, coworking spaces and homes where users rely heavily on wireless networks for:
- Cloud applications
- Video conferencing
- Large file transfers
- Online collaboration
- Streaming
- Remote work
For UAE professionals who frequently work between offices, home and other locations, strong wireless connectivity is increasingly important.
5MP IR Camera for Hybrid Work
Video meetings have become a normal part of professional life.
The OmniBook Ultra 14 features a 5MP IR camera, making it well suited to video conferencing and other camera-based applications.
The IR functionality can also support compatible security and authentication features.
For professionals working with international clients from Dubai, a good integrated camera can make online meetings more convenient without requiring a separate webcam.
Poly Studio Quad-Speaker Audio
Audio quality is another consideration for a portable business laptop.
The OmniBook Ultra features Poly Studio quad-speaker audio, designed to provide a more engaging sound experience for calls, presentations and entertainment.
For example, someone working remotely can participate in a client meeting without necessarily needing an external speaker system for basic communication.
Headphones or professional audio equipment can still be added when higher-quality recording or monitoring is required.
Premium Aluminium Design
Performance is only part of the experience. The laptop also features a premium aluminium design with a Silk Sand finish.
The 14-inch form factor makes it easier to carry between locations compared with larger desktop-replacement laptops.
This is useful for professionals who regularly move between:
- Home and office
- Client meetings
- Business events
- Coworking spaces
- Universities
- Travel locations
For consultants and business executives in Dubai, portability can be just as important as processing performance.
Is the HP OmniBook Ultra Good for Creative Work?
Yes, it is particularly attractive for professionals who prioritise display quality and portability.
The combination of the 3K OLED panel, 100% DCI-P3 colour coverage, powerful Core Ultra processor and fast SSD makes it suitable for many creative workflows.
Photography
Photographers can benefit from the high-resolution OLED display and wide colour coverage when reviewing and editing images.
Graphic Design
Designers can work on illustrations, presentations, advertising materials and other visual content while taking advantage of the detailed touchscreen.
Video Editing
The laptop is suitable for many video editing workflows. However, users handling extremely complex projects, extensive 4K/8K footage or advanced 3D workloads should consider their software requirements and whether integrated graphics meet their performance needs.
Is It Suitable for Business Users?
The OmniBook Ultra 14 is well positioned for business professionals.
Its combination of portability, processing power, AI capabilities, connectivity and premium design makes it suitable for users who want one device for both office and mobile work.
A business executive, for example, could use the laptop in the office with an external monitor and docking station, then disconnect it and take the same machine to a client meeting.
This reduces the need to maintain separate office and travel computers.
